Hello everyone! I am pleased to announce that you have officially been invited to my monthly #thewriterszen Twitter chat (The First Sunday of every month which would be this Sunday, May 6th at 8:00 PM (EST)!
Sorry it wasn’t an invitation to the Royal wedding, although, I will most definitely be watching and we should live Tweet while it is going on. Twitter is a great way to connect with people from all over the world talking about anything and everything under the sun. There are of course Twitter trolls, but for the most-part, it has been my experience that Twitter has been a great way to engage and connect with the writing community. I started my Twitter chat based on conversations I had with other writers about finding the time to write, revisions, knowing when to submit, and imposter syndrome to name a few. From writers just starting out to more experienced writers, we have all had (and still have) these feelings depending on the project or life responsibilities. Some days are better writing days then others. Sometimes it is easy to fall into the downward spiral of doubt, especially if we are lacking support from others. However, if we can recognize and deal with those things that are causing us stress in our writing, then it is easier to write. This is why #thewriterszen was created. It’s a time where writers can get together to discuss all things writing and best practices to stress less during the writing process.
In order to participate in the chat, you will need to use the hashtag “thewriterszen” to follow along. Each month, there is a new topic. This month, we will be talking about ways to deal with self-doubt. I will start the chat off and anyone who wants to participate can tweet comments or questions in response. Some months the chats are very lively and there is a lot of participation and other times it is me tweeting out to the Twitterverse. When that happens, I usually get a private message later from people who resonated with the topic and got something out of it and really, as long as someone is gaining something from the chats, what more could I ask for? My personal philosophy is all about being productive with the time you have and lifting other people up. The road to publication can be long, but I will do everything I can to make you feel supported along the way.
