CAREERS
SUBSTANTIVE EDITOR
Editors at Pandamoon review the work of writers in various fiction realms, focusing on the craft and the literary art of the book. While the Pandamoon substantive editor focuses on the core intentions and goals of the book, he/she will offer specific suggestions for improving the underlying premise, the story, tension, character development, use of dialogue, and sensory description. Narrative voice, pacing, style, and language will be analyzed and fine-tuned by the substantive editor. Upon completion of the developmental review, the substantive editor will create an editorial letter and a style guide for each book.

COPY EDITOR
A copy editor makes sure that a text is readable, accurate, and ready for publication. At Pandamoon, our copy editors ensure that our books comply with the standards of the Chicago Manual of Style, as well as our house style guide, and the style guide for the book established by the substantive editor. The copy editor checks text to ensure it contains correct grammar and spelling and also checks facts and raises queries with the author. The copy editor ensures that their projects are error free. The copy editor must have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word and the track changes feature.

PROOFREADER
The proofreader will apply typographic and grammatical consistency to titles across a variety of genres. Knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style, strong attention to details, and the ability to meet firm deadlines is required. The proofreader must have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word and the track changes feature. The proofreader ensures that their projects are error free.

DIGITAL ILLUSTRATOR
The digital illustrator utilizes creative skills in art and design to communicate a story, message, or idea. At Pandamoon, digital illustrators work to to inform, persuade, and entertain our author's intended audience, adjusting the mood and style of images accordingly. The digital illustrator will be responsible for the rendering of book covers, promo art, and other author branding materials. Photoshop and Illustrator expertise is required, and InDesign knowledge is a plus.

Three to five years of relevant experience is required. We are open to recently graduated students who are looking for a nurturing environment that will help to continue growing their artistic capabilities and skills. Thus, relevant experience can be considered as the time required to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in a digital art or illustration based degree path.

PUBLICIST
The main function of a book publicist is to get an author’s writing noticed and to create “buzz” for a book within the marketplace. The publicist works with the Pandamoon Marketing team and writes press releases and arranges interviews, both online and offline. They also schedule author appearances, book signings and readings, and work with their media contacts to promote the authors they represent.
