It's only natural to follow a growing trend in the publishing. As a nimble small publishing house, Pandamoon is always willing to innovate and think outside of the box. The latest trend in publishing is audio books. Last night, at a monthly meeting for authors, editors, artists and staff, Zara Kramer, Publisher, announced contracts for audio versions of all currently released titles is underway. The first audio book should be released around the end of this year with other titles to follow throughout 2018. The ultimate goal is to incorporate audio versions into the regular book release schedule with eBook and Print versions launching during the first week and audio coming a few weeks later.
What this means for me is that Fried Windows and Becoming Thuperman will be available as audio books sometime next year. Going forward, planned sequels to Fried Windows and Becoming Thuperman will also be released in audio book format. The epic fantasy series The Wolfcat Chronicles, due to begin with the release of book 1 in early 2018, will be available in audio book as well. This is huge news for all my fans, family and friends who have been asking about audio books. You see, a lot of people tell me they don't have the time to sit back and read a book. Even a digital version on a Kindle or on their cell phone or tablet with a Kindle or other eBook reader application doesn't work for them. But they could listen to the book as read by a professional. Audio books open up entirely new markets to me as well. People with fairly long commutes to work can experience one of my novels as part of their daily routine. Perhaps they could enjoy a chapter or two in the morning and another couple of chapters in the late afternoon. Another segment might be those who want to listen to a novel while exercising, jogging or biking. You could even listen while doing chores, cleaning the house, driving to and from stores or classes - pretty much anywhere you could play the audio book.
I'm told that audio book lengths run about an hour for every 10,000 words. That means audio versions of Fried Windows or Becoming Thuperman would play for between 9 and 10 hours.
