Hi, I’m Laura Ellen Scott and I’ll be posting on Saturdays. I’ve been a Panda since October 2014, and I’m one of the authors who made my way into the stable via #PitMad. Now I’m on the team that monitors #PitMad for possible acquisitions, so that’s amazing. My first title from Pandamoon Publishing will be The Juliet, a novel about the search for a cursed emerald that has been ruining lives for more than a century. I like to write about vivid environments, and much of The Juliet is set in Death Valley during the great wildflower bloom of 2005. My debut novel, Death Wishing, is set in post-Katrina New Orleans. My current project is a murder mystery set at a college crime writing program.
So, what can I say about Pandamoon? I’ve been writing and publishing fiction since the late ‘80s, and I have to say, the Pandamoon Publishing ethos is unlike any I’ve ever experienced. For one thing, I seem to have gained a whole new family of authors, editors, publicists, etc. We chat daily--sometimes all day--not just about our books, but about our daily lives and dreams for the future. We also compete for Zara Kramer’s attention. I think Deek is her favorite, and that drives me crazy. I’ll need to do something about that.
While I plot, feel free to browse my Pandamoon pages, my personal blog, or contact me on twitter. If you are a writer with the next Tana French/Sophie Hannah-style mystery manuscript, please drop me a line at laura.ellen.scott (at) pandamoonpublishing (dot) com.
